Back to School!
Is it just me, or did we miss half the summer? It seemed to fly by, and now here we are already diving into back-to-school season!
With the new season also come a few changes to our team. Miss Hayley and Miss Missie are heading back to school and university to continue their learning journeys—we wish them all the best as they work toward their goals!
Miss Cassidy is also moving on to exciting new adventures. She will be working at the daycare in Provost as she makes her home in her new community. While we will miss her warmth, energy, and the special connections she made with the children, we are so proud of her and excited to see all the wonderful things ahead for her.
We are truly grateful for the time, love, and dedication each of these amazing educators has given to our centre. They will always be part of our Stepping Stones family!
Summer Recap!
Most of our days this summer were spent outside, as is our usual routine. With our long, cold, and windy winters, outdoor days become few and far between for our littlest ones, so we truly make the most of the summer sunshine. We enjoyed a few fun trips to the pool and plenty of time just being together. It was wonderful having Missie back with us, and we will certainly miss her when she returns to University this weekend. We hope everyone made some special memories during the holidays, and that the kids are feeling excited and ready for the new school year ahead!
Out of School Care
We had some exciting changes with Out of School Care this summer! With the portable moved in, we are now all together again, which has been such a positive change for both the kids and staff. Looking ahead, we are beginning to plan some upgrades for our playground. While our current setup works wonderfully for toddlers, the older kids are in need of something more engaging. Over the past few years, we’ve been setting aside funds from several fundraisers, and now have a nice little nest egg dedicated to this project. Amanda Chapman has also been busy looking into grants and other opportunities to help us reach our goal.
We will be holding a playground planning meeting this September (date TBD) and would love for a few parents to join in and help out! If you’re interested in getting involved, please let us know—your input and support would be greatly appreciated.

September 30 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
We will be open September 30. I haven’t received the school calendar yet, but I believe the school is closed that day.
On another note, Ms. Billie has been learning more about her Métis culture and ways to share both Métis and Indigenous teachings with the children. You may notice some Métis items displayed around the OSC building as part of this learning journey. I also hope to introduce the children to some of the language as I learn it myself—it will be a wonderful opportunity to grow and learn together!
